8 Alice In WonderlandSuddenly, she found a little glass table. There was a tiny golden key on it. Alice thought, %u201cMaybe, the key will open one of the doors.%u201dShe tried it on each door, but it didn%u2019t fit any of them. Later, she noticed a small curtain. There was a little door behind it. She tried the golden key in the lock and opened the door. She knelt and looked into the most beautiful garden. She wanted to go out and explore the garden with its bright flowers and cool fountains.%u201cHow can I go there? I can%u2019t even fit my head through the doorway,%u201d said Alice. %u201cI wish I could shrink like a telescope,%u201d she thought.She found a little bottle on the table with a label that said %u201cDRINK ME%u201d and she tasted it. It was delicious.Suddenly, Alice felt strange. She started to shrink like a telescope. Now, she had the perfect size to go through the little door into the beautiful garden. She decided to go into the garden. But she realized that the little golden key was on the table She tried to reach it, but it was too high. %u201cOh no, I can%u2019t reach it! How will I open the door now? I really need that key! I can%u2019t open the door, and I want to see what%u2019s behind it!%u201dShe tried climbing the table legs, but they were too slippery. She saw a glass box under the table with a small cake inside. It had the words %u201cEAT ME%u201d on it. Alice decided to eat the cake. Alice hoped, %u201cMaybe this cake will make me bigger so I can reach the key, or smaller so I can fit under the door.%u201d She ate the cake, but nothing changed.
